Joseph O’Brien started his career in liability claims adjusting right out of college in May 1978 starting with Allstate Insurance Company, as their “Pop Out” adjuster.

After that Joe has worked with major carriers on both the primary and excess levels of personal, commercial, and workers compensation liability lines of coverage. Those carriers include: AIG, Western World, OneBeacon/NJSIC, and Vincent Insurance Adjusters (VIA). At VIA he was their NJ / NY independent field liability adjuster. His unique experience of working for insurance carriers and then as an independent liability adjuster, has given him the edge over his competition. He understands the entire claim process and knows what is needed for a properly investigated claim, whether personal or commercial. He knows the first 15 days of any claim investigation is critical!

Joe started O’Brien Adjusting LLC (OBA) in June 2006 and his first major client was New Jersey Skylands Insurance Company. That led to Mercury Insurance Group, AAA Mid-Atlantic Insurance Companies (now known as CSAA), Tower Insurance Group, Farmers Insurance Company, and others who have used OBA throughout the years.

OBA is fully insured with Professional Liability coverage (E&O) with limits of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million in the aggregate.

Joe is licensed in New York State and The State of Delaware as an Independent Adjuster for Auto and Casualty insurance lines of coverage. Note, no license is required in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He has also obtained an Associate in Claims (AIC) from the Insurance Institute of America and is a Notary.
